step by step process
Here is a summary of the process to get your personal & business tax returns prepared by vbCPA, PLLC. Once you start with step 1, the software will guide you through the process.
1. E-sign an "Engagement Letter" (GET STARTED)
Note: You will sign separate engagement letters for personal, LLC partnership & S Corp, etc. tax returns.
2. New Clients - Fill out an online tax organizer
Existing Clients - Answer a short tax organizer & update any information that has changed
3. New Clients - Create an account on our secure client portal
Existing Clients - Sign in to your existing account on our secure client portal
4. Upload tax documents to the secure client portal - you may upload documents by taking photos of documents, or upload pdfs/images of files on your device. You may access the portal from a computer, tablet and cell phone.
5. Once you have uploaded all of your tax documents, within a couple of days vbCPA will prepare your tax return(s) and upload a draft of your tax return(s) to the secure client portal for you to review & approve.
Note: After the initial preparation, we perform a second review on your tax return(s). If we need additional information or have questions, we will notify you ASAP.
6. After you have approved the tax return(s) to be filed, vbCPA will upload e-file authorization forms to the portal for you to e-sign
7. Once you have e-signed, we'll process the signature forms and upload your tax return(s) to the IRS & states for electronic filing
8. Your final copy of the tax return(s) will be uploaded to the client portal for you to download (if you don't want to download it, then it'll will be saved on the portal so you can access it at anytime)
9. After all of this is done, we'll email you the invoice for you to pay online!
